Ambassadors Committee
Positions Open: Ambassadors
The Ambassadors Committee is focused on enhancing the image of the Chamber though outreach and active involvement at events by interacting with new, existing and prospective members. The Ambassadors is select group of individuals that must be applied for and approved by the Ambassador Committee members.
Areas of Responsibility:
- New/Renewing Member Contact
- Member Orientation Breakfasts
- Member Ribbon Cutting Events
- Member outreach
- Referral of possible members to development staff
- Work with Chamber Champions/Chairman's Circle Members
- Report to the Board of Directors
Events Committee
The Events committee exists to facilitate the organization and execution of events for the Chamber. The intent is to provide events that build value for members by addressing the mission statement of the chamber and partnering with member organizations to promote members' events in conjunction with the chamber.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Identify locations for events (Power Lunches, Conexiones, Special Presentations
- Staff the registration table
- Arrange for thank you cards for attendees, sponsors and presenters
- Set up and break down at event
- Promote events through your personal connections
- Assist with Special Events (Gala, Quinceañeras, etc)
- Report to Board of Directors
The Communication committee exists to facilitate the communications of the Chamber both internally & externally. The committee works with media contacts to ensure coverage both before and after events.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Develop and maintain a list of current contacts with relevant media
- Ensure Education's Committee approved content is posted to internet, website, etc.
- Arrange for promotion on internet prior to event
- Ensure deadline's for submission are met for printed publications
- Double Check Events committee posting to events on website.
- Arrange for photos at event
- Send weekly newsletters and email reminders to Chamber members via Constant Contact
- Distribute Conexiones flyers in the community
- Post-event posting of photos, and other relevant information
- Quarterly newsletter (to be developed)
- Report to Board of Directors
The Education committee exists to facilitate the promotion of community and member education. This committee works in conjunction with the Events Committee. The intent is to provide events that build value for members and the community by addressing the mission statement of the chamber and partnering with member organizations to promote members' events in conjunction with the chamber.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Secure High Quality speakers in both English and Spanish
- Coordinate receiving approved speaker's bios, photos and copy for use promoting events
- Provide timely information to the Communications Committee to use in promoting events
- Promote events through your personal connections
- Establish community outreach avenues
- Coordinate with member organizations in promotion of their events
- Report to Board of Directors
Foundation Committee
The Foundation Committee exists to work in partnership with the Chamber's Foundation to secure funding for scholarships, provide community outreach and other programs as identified by the Foundation Board.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Seek to create community awareness of the Foundation
- Seek donors for the foundation, both corporate and individual
- Develop the Foundation as a functioning entity
- Seek to unify disparate efforts in the community in the providing of scholarships to Hispanic/Latino individuals
- Report to the Board of Directors
International Enterprise
Partnership
PURPOSE
- Represent the interests of Chamber members that are active in foreign trade
- Market and promote their business activities, products and services
- Foster cultural, trade and investment ties between the
Sarasota
– Manatee bi-county area, the
- neighboring Fl
orida
Gulf
Coast
region and Latin America,
Spain
and
Portugal
or any foreign
- nation interested in engaging in cross-border business activities with our local business
- community
- Provide a forum for the interchange of ideas, mutual cooperation and assistance among those
- engaged in international trade; and to participate and promote workshops, seminars and
- educational activities involving global trade and related activities.
ON-GOING PROGRAMS
- Sister Chamber Alliance
- Recruitment of companies in the Sarasota-Manatee and
Tampa
Bay
areas active in International trade activities.
Areas of Responsibility:
· Identify local organizations with international efforts and initiate communication with them.
· Develop MOUs with international chamber of commerce
· Work with local governments in support of established Sister Cities Programs
· Identify ways to provide value to international business members.
